Message from the President

Hi Ladies,

We are almost back to school and looking forward to some cooler weather. I want to thank all of the attendees who came to the Smart Women’s Day Out event. It was a great success and I hope you were inspired by our Speakers. You can see a recap of the day on our website’s SWDO page. I want to remind members to bring any playing instruments that you have to donate to Leslie Cooper’s foundation called Pass it On, at our next meeting on August 15th.
We have some great events coming up with Painting with a Purpose and a tour to our St Joseph Abbey. Please check ourFacebook page to sign up online if you would like to attend.
Also, in October we will vote on our Community Partners for 2020. All nominations (of 501 3c organizations) must be made by WIP members by September 19th.
I am looking forward to seeing you on August 15th.

Your President,

Julie Taylor

August Meeting

Our guest speaker is Adrienne Brink, the founder of Uncommon Camellia, a small buisiness based in Slidell. Why should you attend and bring your friends?
  • 1 in 3 American workers are freelancing this year.
  • Learn how a team of wedding coordinators is using the freelance model to find joy and meaning in a flexible work arrangement.
  • Hear how they are prioritizing both our lifestyles and earnings.
  • Discover just why they are maintaining community as independent workers.
Sponsored by Kathleen Garey and FISH FIXE

Our monthly meetings are on the third Thursday (8/15 this month) at St. Anthony’s Gardens (106 Holy Trinity Dr., Covington). The gathering starts at 10:00 am as members and guest arrive and catch up with each other. At 10:30, the meeting starts with some business followed by the main event – our guest speaker. After the meeting, we head to a local restaurant for good food and conversation.

Smart Women’s Day Out

By all accounts and feedback, the day was quite a success. Whether you were there or you missed it, you might want to check out our website for a recap. You will find links to information shared, photos, and lists of our sponsors and those businesses and individuals who donated raffle items. Thank them when you can!
